Evan Douglas Evans (Doug) OAM JP & Dianne Evans OAM- Owners & Directors Derwent Group of Companies
Commenced business together in December 1963 in the pumping and irrigation business.
Together Doug and Dianne have had 56 years’ experience each in the Water and Gas Pipelines manufacturing and distribution business on both national and international scale.
Previously owned WANG Industries which they sold to Tyco in 2001.
Doug and Dianne serve on many industry committees and also many community committees and groups, some of the water committees include:

Stuart Evans - Director Sales and Marketing
Stuart has been involved in the water industry for over 30 years and holds both a Bachelor and Masters of Business. Stuart started in the Industry with Kawandah (Foundry) which was part of WANG Industries (Family Owned), then moved to Tyco Flow Control in 2001. With Tyco, Stuart was involved with numerous roles from Six Sigma and Op Ex, to Marketing (Tyco Maximiser initiative) and IT development (Web and Lotus Notes). Prior experience included project feasibility.
Gary Aitchison – General Manager Pipeline Products NZ & Pacific Islands
Gary has spent the previous 20 years Managing New Zealand & Pacific Island markets including Papua New Guinea, working closely with Government Utility Authorities, Manufacturers, Contractors, Consulting Engineers and Reseller Groups for supply and specification of materials used in both Potable and Non Potable Water Systems.
Prior to this spent time at Marley NZ Ltd and served 10 years in the RNZAF as an Aircraft Technician.
Current Executive Board Member and long standing Allied Supporter of the PWWA (Pacific Water & Wastewater Association).
Received “Water Professional The Year 2019” award at Pacific Water & Wastewater Association 2019 Conference in Vanuatu.
Rodney Fenton - General Manager Sales and Marketing Australia
Rod has spent over 30 years in the Plumbing and Water Industry in Australia. During Rod's time he has held senior roles with Hygrade Water Australia (Hynds NZ owned company), Tradelink Plumbing Supplies as a Regional Manager and a number of other senior roles with plumbing organisations. Rod also has an advanced diploma in leadership and management.
Neil Cook – Sales Manager - Vic, SA, WA, NT
Over 40 Years experience in Water and Waste Water Industry. Neil originally started in construction and then moved to Melbourne Water in maintenance and then moved to South East Water as a Supervisor followed purchasing role for maintenance at SEW. Neil Commenced work with WANG Industries in the mid 90’s as National Sales Manager moving to Tyco Water after Tyco purchased WANG. Neil has now been back with Derwent for the last 10 years as Sales and Training Manager – where he provides training to the Water Authority Maintenance staff on Water and Sewerage products.
Craig Evans – Director Manufacturing & Supply
More than 30 years experience in the water and associated industries internationally where he has
been involved in all areas of the corporate and the full spectrum of roles and responsibilities from General Sales to the CEO of a listed entity. Previous related roles included GM & Strategic Business Development at Tyco Water, GM WANG Industries.
These multi-disciplinary businesses have included the full spectrum of operations including; Product development, Design, Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Plant Installation and Commissioning.
As part of the roles I have been trained in various process excellence disciplines including; Six Sigma (Black Belt champion), Lean (instructor) and 5S.
Trevor Barron – Wodonga Manager
Trevor has over 30 years experience in manufacturing products for the Water, Waste Water, Mining and Gas industries commenced with Kawandah (foundry) in 1987 in sales and production planning of castings and repair clamps. Plant manager of clamp production facility from 1993 to 2001. Production Co-Ordinator of clamp facility with Tyco & Pentair until 2017.
Jamie Sessions - Quality and Safety Coordinator
Currently employed at Derwent industries to undertake the Coordination of Quality and Safety for all sites in early 2018. Having previous experience in the water industry having worked for Wang components, Tyco Water for 14 years prior where roles included components supervisor, production scheduling, quality and safety Coordination.
Garry Gladstone – Purchasing, Sales & Technical Support
With over 30 years experience in manufacturing products for the Water, Waste Water, Mining and Gas industries. Garry started as an apprentice moulder for Kawandah Foundry in Feb 1988 and moved to Wangaratta Industries in 1993 which became WANG Components in a Sales and Production role. In 1996 Gary took over the Purchasing and Operations role at WANG’s new head office in Melbourne. Garry continued to work at WANG in the role till March 2018 prior to starting with Derwent in Wodonga.
William Dart – Sales & Technical Support
Over 20 years experience in the Water, Waste Water, Mining & Gas Industry in the area of Customer Service, Sales and Technical Support in relation to Clamps and Variable Couplings. Bill Started work with WANG Industries in 1999 and joined Derwent at its Wodonga facility in October 2018.
